My name is Sarah R. Butler and I am
a graphic designer. More importantly,
I am a creative thinker. It is my firm
belief that great ideas are just as important as great design.
I started my creative journey wanting to go to college to become an art teacher. My senior year of high school, I took a computer graphics class and designed my high school graduation program cover. I was hooked.
I attended Monroe Community College and received an associate degree in Visual Arts: Graphic Design and Printing Technology. It was at MCC where I refined my foundation skills but really where my love of typography, color and layout started to grow.
After graduating from MCC, I transferred to the Rochester Institute of Technology and graduated in 2008 with a BFA in Graphic Design. While attending RIT I discovered that I am not only passionate about design, I am thoroughly interested in what leads up to beautiful design solutions. Learning about something new and different to inform an end result is one of the things I love most about what I do.
Working mainly as a print designer over the last ten years, I have developed a passion for creating artifacts. I am intrigued by the experience that someone can have with a physical object and the role that design plays in these experiences.
